A pencil sketch of the Mausoleum of Hazrat Imam Husein A.S.

MAUSOLEUM OF HAZRAT IMAM HUSEIN

The blessed tomb of Hazrat Imam Husein is at Karbala which is situated about 280 miles from the important port of Basra, situated on the Persian Gulf.

The mausoleum is a work of artistic beauty with a graceful saracenic dome rising in the center above the tomb.

This dome and the graceful minarets round it are exquisitely proportioned in the saracenic style, and are strikingly beautiful even from a distance with the golden sheets covering them shining blazingly in the tropical sunlight. The very look at the Roza fills one with awe and reverence and the heart bows down out of spontaneous regard for the great Martyr.

Every Muharram about three to four lacs of people gather at Kerbala to offer their humble salutations to their immortal Saviour from all parts of the world
